Map of the Spread of TurtlePox within the Continental U.S. (all strains)
Unmappable infections by country
Notes
- Dots on the map range in color from pale blue to deep blue. The bluer the dot, the more infections there are at that location.
- You can mouse over a dot to see the actual number of infections at that location, and you can click on a dot to get the details of the infections at that location.
- The map graphic is from http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/usa_map.htm. The map is free to use for educational purposes, and I think this qualifies. I am grateful for the free map, although I feel compelled to point out that their 120° longitude line is shifted a bit to the right (it should be right on the California/Nevada border) which made figuring out the math for projecting the dots more difficult than it needed to be.
- Longitude and latitude values for zip codes are found using ZipInfo's free lookup service at http://www.zipinfo.com/search/zipcode.htm.
